9782070360024On Thursday, November 17, at 10 am, we are scheduled to discuss The Stranger by Albert Camus. Many copies are available in PINES. Note the date change to avoid a conflict with Thanksgiving.

Albert Camus’s spare, laconic masterpiece about a Frenchman who murders an Arab in Algeria is famous for having diagnosed, with a clarity almost scientific, that condition of reckless alienation and spiritual exhaustion that characterized so much of twentieth-century life.

Note that in January 2017, we are discussing a novel which addresses the events of The Stranger from a different point of view. Read them both and join us twice for the discussion!
